What is a Comprehensive Home Assessment?
The Comprehensive Home Assessment or energy audit is an analysis used by BPI Accredited organizations like Comfort Home Improvement to determine the state of your home’s energy efficiency and safety. We will determine the cause of any problems you may be experiencing such as heat loss, cold air loss, cold rooms, ice dams, damp basements, and moisture on windows to help you gauge your home's energy efficiency and durability. The focus is your home’s heat envelope, or the enclosedareaof your house in which the temperature is regulated. Following the inspection, Comfort will recommend improvements. These may include measures such as: air-sealing and duct-sealing, insulation, installation of energy efficient lighting, new HVAC equipment or windows. The best solution for most homes often includes a combination of several improvements. Comfort’s specialists will test before and after the job is completed so that you can see how our products improve your home first hand.

The Building Performance Institute(BPI) is an independent non-profit organization that trains and accredits businesses to set higher, greener standards in home performance.Today, homes across the United States suffer from all kinds of problems ranging from inflated energy consumption to poor thermal comfort. High Efficiency Measure Incentive (HEMI) The Homeowner Financing Incentive is a rebate that pays you 10% back on any job up to $3,000. To clarify, this means that as long as 10% of your job cost is less than $3,000 you may be eligible for this incentive. This rebate cannot be combined with the Assisted Home Performance Incentive.		Assisted Home Performance Incentive Assisted Home Performance is a subsidy for which you must be income eligible. NYSERDA pays half of the contract value up to $5,000.
